What we know about you
This page describes, item by item, what Kliprush keeps and why.
What we keep
Date of birth given at sign-up
To check the minimum age of 14 and apply protections for people aged 14 to 17. It is also used, only as an age range and combined with everyone else's, for post statistics (see below). It doesn't appear on your profile and isn't shared with advertisers.
How long: As long as the account exists.
Email address confirmation: link fingerprint and confirmation date
To know the address is yours, so password recovery reaches you. We keep a fingerprint of the link, not the link itself.
How long: The link is valid for 3 days; the confirmation date as long as the account exists.
Advertising consents, ad interactions and, if you allow it, orders placed in advertisers' stores
Only with your consent: to measure ad results and show you ads from stores you've already dealt with; to record orders and refunds confirmed by the store. No other cookies are added.
How long: Ad interactions up to 30 days; clicks and orders up to 90 days. If you withdraw consent, the links to your account are deleted. The ad spend ledger is separate and stays.
Optional ad preferences: stated country and date of birth
Only if you're an adult and give consent: to show you ads chosen by country and age. They aren't used to verify your identity or for earnings, and advertisers aren't told anything about you personally.
How long: Until you turn them off in your ad preferences: at that point they are deleted.
Campaigns, creatives, reviews and ad credit transactions
To serve prepaid ads, measure their aggregate results and reconstruct charges and reviews.
How long: They stay with the accounting records: they aren't deleted automatically.
Google or Apple ID, verified email and name, only if you choose this sign-in
Google or Apple verify your identity; Kliprush links their ID to your new account. With Apple, the email can be an anonymous relay address you choose. Kliprush doesn't keep access keys to your Google account; for Apple it keeps, encrypted, only the key needed to unlink Kliprush from your Apple account when you delete your account. It never links existing accounts with the same email on its own.
How long: The link stays as long as the account exists. Temporary data used during sign-in expires after 10 minutes.
Invites: who invited you
We link your account to whoever invited you, to calculate their extra share (5% of what you earn, which isn't taken from you) and be able to check it again.
How long: They stay in the accounting records: they aren't deleted automatically.
Jury membership, assignments, participation and verdict reasons
Used to assign cases without conflicts, check participation, handle appeals and calculate earnings for people who take part in juries. Jurors' identities aren't shown to other participants.
How long: They stay in the procedure record; files linked to open cases are kept even after the author deletes the video.
Approximate location for the weather sticker, only if you tap the button and give permission
To ask Open-Meteo for the temperature and conditions in the area. Coordinates are rounded to two decimals before being sent and aren't added to the post. The content keeps the temperature, time and the place name chosen by the author.
How long: Kliprush uses the coordinates only to ask for the weather and doesn't save them. The sticker stays as long as the story and the project do.
Replies to Questions stickers
The author can read the text without seeing the sender. Kliprush keeps the linked account to apply blocks, prevent duplicate submissions and handle abuse.
How long: New replies close after 24 hours; those already sent stay in the story archive. When the story is permanently deleted, the replies are deleted too.
Username, display name, bio, profile color or photo
They're your public profile: they help people recognize you.
How long: As long as the account exists.
Email address, if you add one
Password recovery and service messages. We ask for it when you sign up with email and password.
How long: As long as the account exists, or until you remove it.
Password fingerprint
To let you log in. Your actual password is never saved: only the result of a calculation remains, from which the password can't be recovered.
How long: As long as the account exists.
Video searches confirmed by people with an account (search text, day, number of results and an account pseudonym)
To show creators topics searched by at least 5 different people who find few videos. The pseudonym is only used to count distinct people: it doesn't contain the account ID, but Kliprush could recalculate it, so it isn't anonymous data. Creators only receive short texts, with no digits, that don't match names or usernames of registered people. This is collected separately from search history, which stays optional.
How long: Up to 30 days, then they're deleted automatically.
Video plays over 3 seconds, for the public counter (video, day and, for people with an account, the account ID; for people without one, an address fingerprint that changes every day)
To count each person who watches a video only once a day. The address isn't saved: only a calculation remains that can't be reversed and is different the next day. The counter doesn't affect the feed or earnings.
How long: Up to 7 days, then they're deleted automatically.
Post statistics for the people who post them: daily counters of views, source (For you, profile, search…), country derived from the address, age range, follower or not; profile visits and new followers coming from a post
To show people who post how each of their posts is doing, like other social networks do. They're only totals: we don't save who watched. Country and age are shown as percentages and only when there are at least 20 people. To count a profile visit once a day we keep a fingerprint, as for the public counter.
How long: Counters as long as the post exists; fingerprints up to 7 days.
Your vibe: links to the cards you choose to share and the reports you send about cards
To show the card to whoever opens the link (without your name or profile) and let you find and revoke it; to review reported cards. The interests you pick to play aren't saved. Cards are written in advance: none of your data goes to AI services.
How long: Links until you revoke them or close your account; reports as long as the account exists or the reported card stays in the catalog.
IP address and last-used date of each connected device
To show you in «Connected devices» where your account was used from, with an approximate location we calculate without external services, so you can close a session you don't recognize.
How long: As long as the device stays connected. It's deleted when you log out or disconnect it from «Connected devices»; if you don't use Kliprush for 400 days, the session expires and is deleted within a day. If you use Kliprush every day, it stays until you close it.
Comment reports, with a copy of the reported text
To let moderators assess the comment even if it has been deleted in the meantime.
How long: Together with other moderation decisions; the copied text isn't visible to the public.
Uploaded videos, captions, comments, likes, saved videos, who you follow
They're the content and the connections: without them, the site does nothing.
How long: Until you delete them. A deleted video disappears from public view immediately and its files are deleted after seven days.
How much of each video you watched, and when
It's the basis for calculating earnings, yours and those of the people who post. Without this measure there would be nothing to share.
How long: Added up day by day. Needed until the accounts for the period are closed.
Connected devices and login attempts
They show you where your account was used from and let you close sessions you don't recognize. Failed attempts help stop people trying passwords in bulk.
How long: Sessions until they expire or you close them; attempts, for the time needed to recognize an attack.
Reports you send and actions taken against you
Moderation must be able to explain its decisions, and the people affected must be able to challenge them.
How long: They stay: a decision with no record can't be reviewed.
Accrued earnings and requested payouts
It's money: the accounts must add up, and every transaction must be explainable.
How long: They stay, for accounting.
What we don't do
- We don't use other companies' tools to measure or profile what you do: no external tracking systems.
- We don't sell data to anyone.
- Without your consent, ads are chosen based on the video you're watching, not on a profile of you. If you give consent in your ad preferences, country, age and ad clicks also count and, with external consent, purchases in the advertiser's store.
Who else sees it
- Google or Apple, only if you choose to use them to log in: they verify your account and share your ID, verified email and name with Kliprush. They don't receive your Kliprush password or your two-step verification codes.
- Stripe, the payment service: when you ask to cash out your earnings it receives only what's needed to pay you; if you advertise, it handles ad credit top-ups.
- The email delivery service, for service messages such as password recovery.
- Open-Meteo, for the weather sticker: it receives the location rounded to two decimals (about one kilometer), requested by Kliprush's server rather than your device, and returns the temperature and conditions. It doesn't learn who you are.
- Automatic content screening, when active: it receives 8 downscaled frames of each uploaded video (and the photos in photo posts) and returns only a score, used to decide whether the content needs review. It doesn't receive your name or any other account data.
What you can do
From your profile you can change or remove your email, replace or remove your photo, and see and disconnect your connected devices. From your videos you can delete any you want: they disappear from public view immediately and the files are deleted after seven days.
